The pair has been together since July 2012 this is just the first time I decided to get them out of the display tank and try to breed them. They spawned numerous other times while in the tank together. They were bought as a pair so I assume they were collected as a pair and could have been together longer, hence the readiness to spawn. Just a guess though.
The spawn date may not be 100% accurate because that was when I noticed the eggs and finally caught the pair out of the display tank and put them in a breeder box. I will know for sure when they spawn the next time because I have them in a box for observation.
