The male and female chase and flirt with each other. They shake at and sometimes nip at each other.

Spawning Behavior:
|
Male and female clean area of spawning area, the female drops her tube and lays the eggs. The male then follows behind her and fertilizes the eggs. The nest took an hour or so to lay.

Post Spawn Behavior:
|
The male fans and keeps the eggs clean. Both the male and female defend the nest and are very aggressive.
