Spawn Details
Pre-Spawn Behavior: |
Male started cleaning pot approx 2 hours before spawn. Female would come over and inspect his work. and they would wiggle together.
Spawning Behavior:
Male checks area, then female comes over and inspects and positions her body so as to make an egg laying run. She then makes slow but steady pull forward while depositing eggs. She then turns around and mouths eggs. Checking if they are stuck properly? Then male comes over and wiggles over top of them. Then he checks his work by mouthing them when he is done. This is repeated time and again until finished. Once done male goes and fans eggs every 2 min. or so with his pectoral fins.
Post Spawn Behavior:
Male and female both are regularly "fanning" the eggs with pectoral fins and mouthing them.
