This pair acts like pretty typical maroons, or what I like to think of as an old married couple. They bicker a lot but when it comes time to do their job or a perceived thread shows up (aka my hand) they know what to do.

Female lays eggs and male makes fertilization passes

Male tends to the nest, female guards it and becomes VERY aggressive, sometimes even coming out of the water slightly to warn off intruders, including the feeding pipette.
