Time Together:
(how long have you had the pair before this event)
They were a mated pair before I bought them. Total time together is 1 year 2 months when I got them. The transition to my tank did not slow them down and they bred without a break.
Feeding
Food: |
PE mysis, live ghost shrimp, live enriched brine, some hikari mysis (they don't like this too much)
Feeding Schedule:
twice daily from a feeding shell. They learned to eat from it very quickly!

Spawn Details
Pre-Spawn Behavior: |
The males live to stay pregnant and are very restless when they are not. They would have an egg transfer within 2 days of birthing!
Spawning Behavior:
Very elaborate dancing. I have lots of videos of them. Mornings were the most active but they would dance non stop if the male was not pregnant. He was very persistant!
Post Spawn Behavior:
After egg transfer (I witnessed several of these) both the male and female 'wiggle' and twist their bodies as if shifting things internally. I understand this on the male with the new eggs but I never understood why the female did this...
