Larvae Description:
( Do larvae have eyes, mouth, gut, attracted to light, etc?) |
larvae are prolarvae, basically clear with a few spots of pigmentation (several small black spots on the yolk sack / belly). The eyes are technically there, but not pigmented at hatch. Guessing these will take 2 days or so to be ready to hunt, but watching carefully. Larvae hang headdown in the water column initially. |

Other Information: |
Larvae were removed by siphon into a 16 gallon "Black Round Tub" with a heater and air feed gently going in the center. 10 gallons of broodstock water was collected for this first run. What I've experienced matches up with Wittenrich's book, stating 2-3 days from spawn to hatch for Chromis sp. |
