My best successes suggest using a larger container for rearing, and for starting greenwater around the 2 day mark. My best runs to date in the early stages made use of a 4 gallon round drum-style fish bowl in a 10 gallon tank. The first few babies I reared occured in a 2 gallon drum style fishbowl.
Here's what the fishbowl in a tank looked like: http://www.cichlidrecipe.com/nanoreef08/DSCN3414.jpg
