Where Hatched: |
17 gallon black round tub, I set up the BRT with a well screened central overflow to a 5 gal bucket with seeded pond filter sponge, and adjustable powerhead to return water to the tank. Heaters in BRT and in bucket, cause its cold in my basement. I started with just 5 gallons, a 50 watt heater and an air release wrapped around the base of the standpipe. I also sterilized the tank and its accessories with bleach at 1 ml per gallon for about 15 mins. then dechlorinated with sodium thiosulfate. Lots of rotifers and greenwater (rotigrow from Reed Mariculture). See the last video in the linked forum for a view of the hatch! |

I tried the shaking method, and man was that fun! You shine a light on the eggs underwater, and the little swimmers just keep popping up. Unlike clownfish eggs, you can watch these guys hatch! See the video! |
