N/A - have yet to make any serious attempts to rear this species, longest larval survival was to 122 hours post hatch (5 days), which is the starvation point for this species when not fed. |

At hatch, larvae is a prolarvae with no eyes, gut or mouth. They prolarvae are pigmented wiht black. These form over the next 2-3 days. |

This species spawns daily for me, and eggs hatch in 14 hours. Centropyge are known to require specific calanoid copepod nauplii for rearing, which is why I have not made any serious efforts to rear this species as I do not have access to any of the KNOWN first foods. That does not mean that there aren't OTHER, unknown first foods, or that larval rearing techniques might open up new avenues to utilize existing foods like rotifers. Plenty of work to be done! |
