Other Information: |
The larval hatch tank is a 16 gallon black tub. I hatch and rear the babies in about 4-6 gallons, starting with just enough to cover the top of the tile that the eggs are on. The tub is round so the measurements I used are 16in for the total hight of the tub, 19in for the inside diameter at the top of the tub, and 6in for the depth of the water at about five gallons of water. The first hatch had two babies die within a couple days after the hatch and none have died since. The second hatch has had no babies die. All water used to set up the larval hatch tank and for water changes and top offs come from the brood stock tank. |
