Feeding Tactics/Medium: |
500-600uL microalgae grow per L, 6 "drops" of liquid silicate from FAF per L
|
Split Cycle: |
Every 4 to 10 days usually, but a culture can go as long as 30 days without being split. Growth is variable depending on the amount of natural sunlight the cultures receive during the day.

Harvest Methodology: |
Cultures are split once they reach maximum darkness (gauged by eye), typically between 4 and 10 days. If a culture does not darken up as expected, half is taken and disposed of and new sterilized, fertilized media is added. 1/2 to 2/3 of the 2L bottle is usually harvested and stored in the refrigerator until needed.
