The name C. cephalareticulatus is not considered valid taxonomically, but is being used anyway by many authors for the MAZE Angelfish which Bali Aquarich is breeding. As relayed by Kevin Kohen, there are numerous theories as to what the Maze angelfish actually is, and he believes it is most likely a hybrid.
Given that there is taxonomic precedent for "wild hybrids" being described and having a binomial identification, I have used the form sp. x. cephalareticulatus to preserve the species name most authors are using while also denoting the suspect hybrid origin and the fact that it's status as a species is up in the air". Another perhaps more valid structure might be C. sp. "Maze".
Officially, this fish is currently considered by default to be under the umbrella of C. chrysocephalus.
I welcome input on the name / taxonomy....this one just sucks.
