For the same reason we declined to list P. velifera, we're going to decline to list P. latipinna as well.
"The decision of the council was to deny entering this species at this time. We are always open to reconsidering it in the future I suppose, but the consensus was that any species normally thought of and sold as a Freshwater Fish, let alone one normally handled in a typical Freshwater BAP, shouldn't be permitted into the MBI Fish Species Lists / Categories. Yes, they can occur in saltwater but they are typically only sold or utilized in saltwater aquariums as a food item for other marine fish. IF there is ever a place for this species in the MBI, it could conceivably be under food culture at the most basic level, possibly, maybe, perhaps."
