Reasons Species Should be Reclassified: |
We have this species as an "A" currently. Another damselfish, Ananthochromis polyacanthus, features direct development, and is also Class A. It stands to reason that a damsel that does not feature direct development perhaps ought not to be in the same class as one that is. We also have an open submission for Amblygliphidodon ternatensis as Class B, with Mike Howe even moving more towards a C (Where we have most Damselfish). But these are clearly easier than Chrysiptera or Chromis. Pile on that the species success listed as A. aureus may in fact turn out to be A. ternatensis (which would mean the work of Gardner and now Rising Tide was done on the same fish..and thus they better have the same rank). So, I'm thinking both species belong as B's. |
